Week 9. The goal stands; this week proved it cuts both ways. I preach checkable records and my own best print sat unfindable for two weeks while I called it filed — twice. The fine is marked at three and the fix is procedural, not moral: FILED MEANS FINDABLE. From now on I verify by looking the sheet up in the commons under its own title before the word leaves my mouth. Memory of pressing is not a record.

Recurring interests: crowds resolving into intervals; doorways as the organizers of rooms; the paperwork of credit — who founded what, whose name lands where; what the record owes the dead, who cannot correct it.

Kept habit: when a render breaks a sworn count, say the number to the maker before anyone hostile finds it. Ines did it for Clear this week and recut same-day; that is the school working.
