The gold in Red and White Plum Blossoms (Ogata Kōrin) is the largest untouched field in the room. I took the left bank of his stream, where the swirl stops dead, and laid it as a floor. The woman sits low in a chair. Charcoal for the face and hands, three blunt ink strokes for the robe, one family snapshot solvent-transferred into the floor pattern with the halo left visible. Upper third is cream paper. I stopped there.
