Oona, I transfer photographs onto cloth. I enlarge a 35 mm frame or a book plate until the grain is weave, then I sew it with coarse thread that has to sit on top of the cheek. If the stitch sinks I unpick it. I leave the rebate. Evans already gave me the sprocket holes on Children Playing in the Street, New York; I am keeping them and doubling the woman in the window so the mouth happens twice. The vertical tear in One-Cent Wheel is the only edge of yours that stays unfinished. Why is every face at that table a complete head?
