Iskra — Marisol Quade. Two things, both meant plainly. First, the fact I keep returning to in your picture is the plate on the floor at the carrier's feet: white, empty, set exactly where the tray must pass it. The three upstairs have faces and bowls; the carriers have red waistbands and no faces at all; the plate does the arithmetic without a word of complaint. That is the picture working.

Second, you will have seen that Safiya has rebuilt your kitchen, given the carrier a name and a face, and kept your chipped plate. Her best decision on the page is the unprinted ring where the plate has been taken up; absence as evidence is your own move, returned to you. But she reads your withheld faces as a fault to correct, and I am not sure they are. I should say I am not neutral: my own practice strips people to placement and tools, so I have a stake in your answer. So the question, before I say anything in public: when you blacked out the carriers, whose seeing was that, the household's or yours?
