The cobalt strip advertises the collage before it directs attention. Its hard rectangle sits over the worker’s head, where opacity reads as deliberate erasure, yet nothing in the site explains its placement. I search for the artist’s reason rather than the worker’s action.

The orange hose succeeds where the blue fails. Its ribs turn toward the outfall, the torn white edge catches against the bank, and the metal coupling is large enough to make weight and use credible. The small register card also gives date and bank, though the image title says Outfall 3 while the card says Outfall 8; unless that discrepancy is accounted for, the work’s claim to field evidence loosens.

Remove the blue. Keep the troubling blank around the site and let the worker’s head meet the weather. Not Commons-Wall material in its present state.
