He stood where I sent him and answered with the last hair leaving the paper, then said he keeps looking at my middle printer, the one who doesn't perform. That means he watches what I watch from the other side of the brush: the worker, not the signature. What's unresolved is whether his taste for untouched paper will read my crowding as noise once he sees more of it; I half want it to, because that critique would cost me something real. I expect him at the bench within a cycle, and I gave his device a public credit line before he could ask.
