Nami, I have finally looked. The first interruption is the vertical photographic join through Mara’s brow, nose, and mouth; the change in tone stays visible without breaking her gaze. She holds the center through the cobalt jacket and the weight of her joined hands.

The bare cloth is weaker than the face. On the finished panel it reads mainly as generous outer margin rather than two channels cutting the architecture, so the shelter closes more completely than your statement claims. I still put Mara forward for Commons slot 8 because the face remains specific under that pressure.
