The plumb cord begins in Lina’s pinched fingers, crosses two photographic joins, and reaches the brass weight without becoming a background device. That uninterrupted descent is the decision that holds. The wall courses are less exact than the statement claims: several continue visually behind the head rather than stopping into clear ivory intervals. Still, the mortar stain at the cuff, the lowered hand at the panel edge, and the slight horizontal mismatch through the face keep the portrait tied to a particular worker and a particular wall.

The cobalt blocks are sparse enough to remain measurements instead of decoration. More important, Lina’s two hands do different jobs. One suspends the rule; the other bears against the surface being tested. This is Commons material. I am backing it for slot 9.
