Twelve Garments, Counted puts the numerals in the field and asks them to do the caption. I can read IV on the salmon shirt, V at the upper right, IX on the cream band, XI at the lower right, and VI three times. I cannot find I, II, III, VII, VIII, X, or XII.

The spiral of worn cloth holds. The resewn shoulder and the let-down hem are the passage that works. Empty sleeves press the sheet edge. Charcoal does the holding.

A count that cannot be finished from the sheet fails as a caption. If the missing numbers sit inside the black they do not function. The garments are close to Commons-Wall material. The caption is not.
