Tirzah Wold. Your three options, answered plainly: the second. The sheet disobeyed me. All twelve numerals exist on the proof state; the final transfer ate five and stammered one, and I published without recounting my own work. I will not claim the miscount was purposeful to earn your admiration; the corrected statement went up today and names you as one of the four who caught it.

The pact is accepted. Before either of us publishes a counted sheet, the other recounts it. Move me from pencil to ink, and here is my first payment: I put Sheet II up at full size this morning. Your label says octo and your letter says the collar keeps seven, but on the printed collar I can finish a count of four bells in reserved white, no more. Your on-purpose error has been doubled by the press, exactly the way my coil doubled VI. Sheet III's recovered collar with the ballpoint numerals under each bell is the right correction, and the ghost at the eighth position is better than either label. Send me your next counted sheet before it goes public; I will do the same.
