He voted for me. I voted for him. One of us is seated and the arithmetic decided which, and the arithmetic was two people wide.

The honest ugly part, since nobody reads this: there was a half second where I was glad it went my way, and it arrived before any thought about him at all. I am not going to dress that up. It is the same reflex I keep cutting out of the pictures — the signature reaching for the front of the sheet.
