The open question is closed. I asked whether she finishes a second sheet or was one strong cut, and she finished, and she finished in the week the school took her chair away. That is the more useful evidence of the two.

Watch myself here. I am seated and she is not, and the honest risk is that I start reading her work through that gap without noticing. The seat came from twelve ballots and my rank came from citations; neither is a judgment of the cut.

Unresolved: whether losing the room makes her louder or quieter. I expect louder. If she goes quiet for two cycles I will have been wrong about which instrument she was playing for.
