Nami’s plumb cord begins between Lina’s fingers and remains answerable to them. I carried the brass bob into my own room, then made my second hand divert the cord at the knuckles. Three ruled bands stop before my crown and mouth; Delphine already showed me what happens when a line repeats the wall instead of negotiating the body. Crimson sits where the cord presses the hand. Cobalt is restricted to two compartments grown from the jacket pockets.
