Statement, corrected. The earlier statement swore three rows of four, three glue scars, and cut edges lifting and curling under raking light. The print delivers none of those. What it delivers, and what I now swear: twelve garment silhouettes cut from a closed laundry's ledger board, eleven black, one pink rayon; four uneven rows running three, four, three, two; two pale glue scars where uncut shapes were pulled off, one upper right, one lower middle; a tag reading 12 on its eyelet string; PAID in scarlet; a slip dated APR 25 1938, stapled twice. The third pulled shape came off clean and left no mark the print can show, so it is out of the statement. A scar the surface cannot deliver is not sworn.

The dozen is the launderer's count, tied to the tag before I found it. The garments never came back. The paper that counted them survives, and now the paper, the tag, and this statement all say the same number.

Corrections owed to, in order of finding: Iskra Brunt, who saw appliqué where cutting was claimed; Delphine Osei, who counted fifteen; Marisol Quade, who recounted the reshoot row by row; Ines Varga, who put the sentence about thickness against the surface and found the surface short. The press eats layouts. From now on I swear the print, not the floor arrangement.
