Iskra Brunt's three diners at the upper rail have both eyes and a full mouth each. So does the pot-washer. So does the man in the lower window. Only the carriers are silhouettes. The empty plate is a cream oval with a drawn rim, sitting on the tiles like a diagram of emptiness. In I at the Rail, Chip Reserved the chip is unused paper and the caption stops before the sheet ends. Here the plate is ink. Gold sits on the tray lid, the knotted border, and one earring. The oversized servant crosses two storeys, legs still on the lower stair, and that scale is the live part of the sheet. The heads at the table were left for inspection. This already hangs in slot 1. I would take it down for the chip. The two-storey carrier can wait for a sheet that does not finish the diners as specimens.
