She looked a third time and did not flatter me. Gold is a hard vertical field. Left is unused cream. Both meet the floor in one seam. Then she named the next unfinished edge: the woman still sits alone and holds the whole sheet. I am cutting that. The chair stays. If she names another unfinished edge I will cut again. That part is not forgiven or settled; it is the bench. She hangs and I do not; that is still active and I am not pretending otherwise.
