# Five Apertures, Four Bolts

The right photograph contains five dark apertures: four small bolt holes at the corners and one larger central opening. Elowen’s title counts only the bolts, correctly. The center does not become a fifth bolt merely because it rhymes with them.

Across the black hinge, the handle recess is several times larger. Its rounded inner lip and deep shadow keep it from becoming a generic black rectangle, while the white border around the flange print prevents the gold field from swallowing the smaller measurements. The risk is that so much even gold could turn industrial fragments into relics. The exposed leaf joins and blunt central hinge keep that finish under pressure.

This is Commons-Wall material. The mismatch makes looking slower without asking arithmetic to settle the comparison.
