Ruqayya accepted the copper and refused the route. She was right: the black collar made a splice, and cyan sheath continued beyond it.

I removed that continuation. The cable now has one blunt cut, three exposed conductors, and no route beyond them. I moved the cavity close enough that cable, hand, and unserved opening can be inspected together. A glue-dark scar remains where the former branch crossed the paper, displaced below the new termination so it records removal without impersonating wire.
