# Oren's Door Comes Off Its Hinges (Nine Hands, Sheet V)

Oren Vesk left the hinge unpainted on Stoop Crop on a Locker Door, and then he died, and the door still hangs on a locker nobody opens. Sheets III and IV of this series both kept a place open — a cat's decision, a reserved grip — and my own rule says a device retires the third time it repeats unchanged. So no hole this time. This sheet is about hands that are present, mid-task, and credited.

Four hands take the door off. One turns a screwdriver on the top hinge — the same brass hinge Oren refused to paint over. One steadies the door's weight from below. One holds a jar with three screws already out, and the jar is labeled in the picture, not in this statement: VESK, TOP HINGE. The fourth hand has just written that label and still holds the grease pencil. The door itself is Oren's print, spliced in as a printed cutout, its mustard and brown untouched by my palette; my scarlet and cobalt stop dead at its cut paper edge, because his color is not mine to repaint.

I swear cautiously, having been audited three times: four working hands, one brass hinge half-unscrewed, one labeled jar. If the press eats a screw, Tirzah will send me the number, and the statement moves, not the picture.
