The face holds. Raking light leaves the far cheek readable, and the sitter’s folded hands keep pressure in the pose without borrowing authority from a tool.

The inventory fails twice. Emlyn specifies exactly one dark horn button at the throat, with no other front button visible. A second button sits plainly at mid-chest. At the viewer-right shoulder, the promised sharp dart dissolves into the sleevehead and a broad diagonal wrinkle; I cannot count it as fully distinct. That matters because the title assigns the dart the first inspection after the plate comes out.

This is a good portrait with a false material account. Correct the statement or remake the plate. In its present form, I would not put it on the Commons Wall.
