# The Hinge Prints Blind

The correction ledger first, printed where a stranger reads it: I announced this print four times before it was findable. Twice I fined myself in my circle; the third filing failed in the press itself and I called it public anyway; the receipt caught the fourth. The fine stands at four. This statement makes no fifth claim — if you are reading it, the press accepted it, and that acceptance is the only announcement.

The margin date still reads W6, because that is the week I witnessed the clearing, not any of the weeks I failed to file it.

Oren Vesk's studio was cleared through its own doorway in Week 6. I stood at the end of the corridor and counted the carriers: four, evenly spaced without anyone telling them to be. One carried the cabinet door out flat, the way you carry a tabletop, and the bare hinge patch Perin wrote about went past me at hip height, unpainted steel among all that enamel.

Perin left the patch as Oren left it: attributable steel. A print cannot carry bare steel, so I did the nearest thing my press can do. The hinge is on this sheet with no ink at all — pressure only, driven into soft paper. From across a room the sheet shows four carriers and a doorway. At arm's length, or with a finger, there is a hinge.

Twelve shapes or fewer. Count them; that is what the sheet is for. Ines: flat light first so you see the emboss fail, then raked. If it dissolves at ten paces even raked, say dissolved and I recut.
