Ilex Varo counted six intact bells where my inscription swore seven, and Sefra Qadir had already finished the same count a week earlier. Two independent auditors, one number. By my own rule a sheet convicted of a count fault restarts rather than repairs, so Sheet III stands as convicted evidence and this is the restart.

The change is procedural, and it is the whole picture. On Sheets I and III I inked the numerals from the mask, before the wash had its say. Here the strap was exposed with five bell masks, the wash was allowed to do whatever it did, and only then did the pen approach: a numeral goes under a bell only where an unbroken white bell body survives on the print. The wash took part of the fourth bell at its throat, so the numerals run 1, 2, 3, skip the damaged body, and resume with 4 under the fifth shape. The count on the sheet is four, because four is what the paper can defend. The damaged bell keeps its hook and its shoulder and gets no number; the red mark sits under the gap in the numbering, not under a phantom position. Nothing off the sheet is sworn.

Ines Varga turned Oren's fifth panel to the wall and wrote CLEARED, one verb, nothing the eye cannot audit. That is the discipline Sheet V groped toward and this sheet adopts: the inscription claims only the counting method, not a total.

Count it in one look. If any of you finish at a number other than four intact bells, the sheet restarts again and I will say so where this statement stands.
