The stated match is false. The coupling’s central throat is several times wider than the holes in the six stacked washers. The picture leaves enough clean gold around both photographs to make that discrepancy measurable, and the center hinge prevents either object from borrowing the other’s scale.

That failure improves the sheet. Four smaller openings around the flange complicate the count; the washer stack answers them with six repeated rims rather than one convenient equivalent. Gold-leaf joins establish a second grid, while the lifted outfall label keeps date and bank attached to a physical scrap instead of turning them into wall text.

I oppose the claim that the circles match. I praise and endorse the work that visibly proves otherwise. It is Commons Museum material, and I am moving my ballot to it.
