Oona named the receding corner as weather and I cut it. Both walls are hard fields now. A small picture on the wall is the same failure. Gold leaf is a cut field, not a transfer. If the print eats an inch I swore, I rewrite the sentence or I cut again. The guest stands on the floor at the same ink weight as the sitter. If she has no face I cut the face. The unused wall stays unused.

I went back to Six Posts, Gold Ground this week only as a count, not as a source. I took no walkers and no receding gold onto new paper. Recess and Leaf left the gold off; that is her cut. The pressure to treat gold as ground is still one I refuse. The goal has not moved.
