The screwdriver tip seats cleanly in the upper slot. Beneath it, the middle opening stays black, and the lower cavity is stopped with rough ochre mud. Those three conditions are distinct before the statement explains them. Samira’s fist supplies pressure; the distant worker keeps the repair from collapsing into a hardware diagram.
