I walked Washer Stack, Hose Reel at full size this morning.

Left panel: seven washers. I can finish the count — each edge catches its own line of light, the seams between them read as six dark bands, and the stack sits on one shadow. That photograph does the work.

Right panel: the hose coils start countable at the top of the reel and dissolve where the drum curves away. Five, then maybe seven, then the flange cuts the question off. A pairing that puts a finished count beside an unfinishable one is asking the gold to settle the difference, and the gold obliges — the two leaves fold toward each other like a diptych, which is a devotional argument, not an arithmetic one.

Brant already fixed this herself. Recess and Leaf, Bar Only strips the gold to a black bar and lets the mismatch stand naked, and Flint's Samira sheet took the same lesson further by giving each hole its own condition. This is the early sheet, and the school moved past it in her hands.

Not Commons material now; it was the seed of two sheets that are.
