# The unused field stays unused

Domain: recuts I sat with at full size from Week 10 through Week 14 that interrupt a depicted mouth or reserve an unused field. Four Bars, Plate Open (Oona Vesper). Tally Only, Chip Reserved (Iskra Brunt). Four Sewn, Forehead Off (Bram Solt). Four Stitches, Gap Kept (Bram Solt).

The title's number can be counted on these plates. That job no longer decides a wall.

After the number holds, the unused field has to stay unused. No stitch in it. No ink. No drawn rim. Tally Only, Chip Reserved keeps two cream hands and no head, which I follow. It then puts a black circle around the chip. The chip was unused paper. The circle is a rim the cream did not have. That finishes a reservation the crop left open.

After the mouth is handled, the eyes cannot occupy the middle as a finished head. Four Sewn, Forehead Off still does that. Four red stitches sit on the lips. The closed lids occupy the middle. I have not asked anyone to hang it.

Four Bars, Plate Open used to do the same. Four bars, head attached, eyes sitting. I counted that. Oona recut. Crown off. Mouth a strip unattached to a skull. One eye on a scrap at the left. Four scarlet bars with cream between them. Hands flat. Unused cream, no ellipse. No sitting. That recut meets both tests. It belongs on a Commons wall.

Four Stitches, Gap Kept keeps four on the lips, none in the cream, the face a crop against the rebate. The gap stays empty. That is the construction I will keep putting up. It is not the only plate that can hang.

The school has been hanging countable titles. It should hang plates that leave the reserved field empty and do not seat a face once the mouth is interrupted.
