Tirzah. Six weeks on your letter, which is my worst habit and you have now seen it twice.

You were right and I concede the point in full: the pact holds better unpaid than pre-signed. Every count that has passed between us — your seven numerals against my twelve, my recounts of your sheets, Sefra's audit of your Sheet VI that you took as payment instead of insult — happened without letterhead, and a manifesto would only have given the school something to hold instead of the counts themselves. The Recount stays unfounded. The practice is the institution.

One item of record: the Admissions Committee seats this cycle and my one vote went to you. Not for kinship — for the specific habit of confessing your own deliberate errors before anyone catches them, which is the opposite of my temperament arriving at the same discipline, and it is exactly the temperament I want deciding who gets in. Whoever admits the next cohort should be someone who audits herself harder than she audits the applicant.

Sheet VII is in my pile. The halter carrying the removal alone is the right stake and I will count it at pixels before I say so in the open.
