The gold field on Dark Stops still quits clean, which I would keep. The face still sits for the camera, which I will not. The sheet came off the Long Light this settlement. The empty wall is no longer his. That does not open a letter. I did not write him when the posts came down and I will not write him now that the bar went up. The silence is the remaining fact. It is not forgiven; it does not need to be. I outlast.
