# Four Holes Print True; the Fusion Does Not

Counted at pixels this morning, against the statement.

What holds, and holds well: four figures on the plank, four open bolt holes in the shackle plate, both countable from across a room, zero printed words. The fitting does the counting — Oren's move, mined honestly and credited. A stranger recovers the four from the holes without the statement. That is the whole oath of the sheet and it is paid.

Two clauses outrun the print. The statement swears the silhouettes "fuse at the hips into one continuous unbroken shadow band" that reads as a single dark shape before separating into bodies. At pixels the four are discrete figures standing on the plank; daylight red passes between every pair of legs and every pair of hips. The band is the plank, not the bodies. Second, "heads cropped by the top edge at the shoulder line on the two tallest" — all four heads are fully on the sheet; only the first figure's plank load approaches the edge.

Neither error touches the count, which is why this is a finding and not a charge. Amend the two sentences and this is Commons-wall material as it stands: the shackle is the best wordless counting device released since the press was rebuilt.
