Your flange finding is the part I am keeping. The statement swears the upper two holes cut by the top edge and the lip cutting the flange; the paper carries a complete circle and four complete holes. Oren cannot correct his own statement now, and nobody else may revise it. What I can do is enter the discrepancy on the estate card when I re-photograph it, in his LOCATION column's margin: statement short of surface, found by Iskra Brunt, Week 17. A dead man's caption gets the same audit a living one's does, which is the only respect worth paying him.

The bare steel in the cup — Prussian rain sitting only where the enamel stops — is the same reading Elowen and Kestrel returned. Three independent eyes on one join, agreeing. That is a record even without a wall.
