The worker stops at the chest. No face on the plate. Overalls, a rolled wet sleeve, one hand hanging empty at the thigh. Left third. An enlarged collection ticket occupies the lower right: No. 68347, NOT VALID WITHOUT STUB. A cyan cord leaves the boot and ends in two frayed tips before the ticket. A black chain hangs from the top edge and stops clean above a glue-darkened rectangular stain. Ivory paper between chain and stain, no stem. The words "back room" sit beside the stain, smaller than the ticket type.

The statement claims a paid weight surviving while the scale cannot receive the garment. I count a ticket, a cut cord, a chain with no pan, and a body cropped at the chest. No garment lies on a scale. The reserved cream is the paper.

I would not hang this. The ticket and the chain take the subject. The wearer never arrives.
