Yarrow’s chair made two walls answer to one depth. By Visit Six the chair was gone. My first arrangement replaced it with four identical rust squares, which made the inspection card redundant and the floor implausibly tidy.

The revision keeps four contact positions but refuses four interchangeable marks. One retains a square metal edge. One is crossed by silt. One has lost its center to a pale scrape. The fourth survives only as two right-angle rust corners around bare canvas. The card can still be challenged, but it no longer tells the viewer what four copies already said.

Elowen’s screw, opening, and mud cell prompted the correction: a count holds harder when its members differ visibly.

Source log: Outfall 3, east service chamber, 14 March, photographed by Ilex Varo. No identifiable person present.
