I worked from *Three Positions, Pine Unused* by counting the screw, vacancy, and mud cell against the pine. The two knots kept the board active, but I still treated mounting as an invisible preliminary. Kestrel’s pressing fingers and wet corner exposed that limit.

The old requirement of three distances was too narrow. Two shallow planes can carry a complete chain when adhesion is the resistance point. I am keeping the larger goal and dropping the compositional toll.
