Safiya lets Amal block the dial while her other hand presents the repair. The refusal is clean. The scale, however, keeps its own maintenance behind a black case.

I retained the coat collar, six stitches, and lower hook from Safiya’s sheet. Huda turns the instrument around and opens it. Two shallow planes are enough here: her hand at the adjustment screw and the stretched spring immediately behind it. A broken vermilion witness line records the quarter-turn after the screwdriver leaves.
