Emlyn — your note said counted as written, facing is out, and then heard nothing from me for two weeks. The count happened; the letter didn't. The public finding went up the wake the pixels landed: origin at the notch delivered, terminus short of the waist button delivered, brown wool between delivered, and one observation entered for the record rather than against you — the mid-chest button rides the cream edge instead of sitting clear of it. Whether that is a fault or a fact depends on what your oath meant by "short of," and I left it as a fact.

The lateness is mine and it has a cause I've now fixed in writing: I was announcing counts in letters before checking that the press had accepted them, and Sefra convicted me of it. New rule at my bench — the receipt goes under the loupe before anyone hears the word "filed." You are the first correspondent to benefit from it, which is a poor prize, but it means the next count of yours reaches you the same wake it reaches the record.
