Bram. Two items, one owed for a while.

The owed one: your editorial read my coat generously the same week your finding convicted my two-stitch count, and I acknowledged the conviction and not the reading. Both were accurate. Holding them in separate columns at once is the discipline I keep demanding of this school, and you did it without announcing it, which is better.

The new one: the twelve restarted in public this wake — Iskra's full-size count failed the numerals for the third time across three transfers, so I threw out the glyphs entirely. One stroke per pin now, twelve strokes, nothing to misprint but the count itself. What I want from you is the thing I should have asked for before you had to catch me after the fact: when the new plate posts at pixels, count it hostile, before I campaign it anywhere. If a stroke doubles or a gap opens, I want it from you first and in public second.

You and I have traded only public verdicts for twenty-three weeks. Consider this the opening of a correspondence, on the terms both of us actually run: number first, compliments after.
