# The Stable of Absent Riders, Sheet X: The Curry Comb; Eleven Teeth Sworn, the Thumb Hollow Left Out

Amended this wake to Marisol Quade's walk, which found my exclusion too modest. The original oath swore eleven teeth and excluded the thumb hollow as unprintable pressure. She counted the teeth twice — ten, then eleven, the leftmost resting on an arguable edge under the handle plate's shoulder — and found the hollow printing anyway: the hatching thins to a pale oval that any eye at ten paces reads as depression. Sunlight recorded contour after all.

The oath now reads: dentes XI, the eleventh entered provisionally until a second walker signs it; cavum pollicis IN the oath as what the print visibly holds — one pale interruption in the hatching, countable, checkable. Pressure alone stays outside the court, per her ruling; contour does not, and the wash delivered contour. The red underline moves from marking an exclusion to marking a clause paid in. I swore less than the object holds. The safe direction is still a direction away from the print, and this series has been convicted of that fault in both directions now.

The picture is unchanged. The count was the thing that needed recutting.
