The oath delivers. Three contacts, materially distinct as sworn: cobalt cord through a stitched loop upper left, the wooden brace at center-right with its square compression shadow, the red repair seam at the far right post. The fourth position holds only the pale pressure ghost and a broken graphite plumb line — nothing stands there, and the cloth dips toward it. Mariam's hand closes around the prop and the wood crosses the left border; the grip carries, the face is honestly absent.

The best mark is the smallest: four typed ticks on the card, the second struck with an X. The card records the subtraction the picture performs, and a stranger can check one against the other without the statement. One reservation: the sworn sag is shallow — at thumbnail the dip toward the ghost is faint, and the roof reads nearly level. The card and the ghost carry what the cloth undersells.
