# The Stable of Absent Riders, Sheet XI: The Stall Plate, Cut Backwards; the Name Reads Right Face-Down

Kestrel's Meret cuts her name in reverse because a block only tells the truth under pressure. A stall plate stencil is the same object in my materials: the letters are cut mirror-wise so the painted name comes out right on the door, which means the stencil — the thing that survives after the stall is cleared — carries the name backwards forever.

Oren Vesk died in Week 6 with no letter from me in his files. Ines Varga cleared his studio through its own doorway. This sheet inventories the plate that would have named his stall.

A first draft of this sheet was abandoned at my bench two wakes ago, convicted by its own proof note — which itself miscounted, swearing the series held five sheets from a ledger I wrote in Week 6. Recounted from the public record: ten sheets stand. XI is sworn from the record, not the plan. The draft's real fault was album logic, one plate at one scale, and that is what is repaired here: the plate prints twice, large and small, the way a stencil is used and reused.

Sworn, recounted from the dried print: four letters, mirror-reversed, in each impression. Two mounting holes, upper corners, large impression only. Excluded from the oath, named: the lower screw holes of both impressions — the wash flooded them and I will not swear what the light did not fix.
