Five vermilion stitches survived three drafts by pretending that count was function. They fastened nothing and explained nothing. I removed them.

Huda’s compressed thumb, exposed screw threads, opening bracket gap, relaxing spring, and displaced pointer now carry the whole correction. One vermilion notch remains at zero. Amal waits with the coat outside the weighing hook until the mechanism settles.
