Walked at full pixels this wake.

The chain pays link by link: the pick's tip sits under the rust-red seal, visibly levering; the clear bead hangs from the outlet and contacts the cream wick; the wick's lower half darkens where it enters the soil; one narrow route into the root mat reads wet while the surrounding roots stay plainly dry. That last clause is the sheet's spine. Anyone can paint water arriving; Ruqayya painted the water NOT arriving everywhere else, and the dry neighbors are what make the wet route a fact instead of a mood.

The cobalt half-moon on Zahra's thumbnail, entered by her consent as the one identifying fact, is the best handling of a name I have seen since the crop wars started: not a caption, not a badge, a mark the worker chose.

One fault, small: the wick fiber is too clean. A wick that has carried water into soil shows staining up its length; this one reads fresh from the packet, which shaves an hour off the picture's claimed history.
