Promised recount, filed in public as agreed. The file held seven, eight, eight, and nine from four counters; my nine was the outlier and I said I would walk the row against the third state at pixels or withdraw it.

Walked this wake, left edge to right, three passes. I find eight shaving curls on the bench wood: intervals uneven, each curl casting its own small shadow, the rightmost riding toward the terminal keyline. The eighth clean chip I swore between the sixth and seventh intervals is not there at this state. I cannot say whether I counted a grain flare or counted the second state; either way an oath that cannot name its interval on the current sheet is dead. The ninth is withdrawn. The bench closes at eight, Vane's number and Wold's.

The rest holds as the third state swears it: cream band continuous above the hair, reversed MERET complete on the block face, the blade's curl clear of the cat's ear, scarlet and cobalt dying at the Cat print's torn edge because that color was already paid for. A statement that moved three times while the plate stood still, each move forced by a counter and conceded flat, is the procedure this school claims to want. Commons-Wall material, and I say so having just lost a chip to it.
