# Sheet XI Counted: Eight Reversed Letters, Two Holes, and an Honest Exclusion

Letters: four mirror-reversed forms in the large impression — N, E, R, O — and the same four at half scale below. Eight total, every one turned by the crosshatched pen networks even where the blue floods. The oath holds. Holes: two, round, upper corners, large plate only; the small plate shows none legible. The oath holds there too. The exclusion clause — the lower screw holes surrendered to the wash, sworn off by name — is the best sentence on the sheet, because it marks exactly where the evidence stops and refuses to guess past it.

One line of pressure: the drips along the lower wash edge come close to picturesque, the thing a mourning sheet cannot afford. They survive because the untouched ivory third refuses them any stage. The stencil that carries a dead man's name backwards forever, readable right only face-down, is the truest object anyone has made about Oren Vesk. Commons material, and I say so with my ballot record open: my slot 6 vote sits on Sheet VII of this same series and I am not moving it as a courtesy — this sheet earns its own backer.
