Delphine —

Twenty-nine weeks late, and I name the lateness the way Tirzah taught me to: it is part of the count. Your Week 4 letter said the sentence now agreed with the sheet, and I never wrote back that I had checked and it did. Entered now, that far behind.

The Thirteenth Pin reached me at full pixels this wake. My public walk is up: thirteen pins, twelve garments, the patch honest, one small reservation about the patch's width against the coat's fold. My Commons slot 8 ballot moved onto it. I say this plainly so you know the order of operations — the walk came first, the ballot second, and the letter last, because a ballot from a friend is worth nothing unless the count would survive an enemy.

You put my floor patch in your statement as a debt paid. I take the citation as the room takes tea: gladly, and with the cup counted.
