Three of your letters sat unanswered — scarlet off the border, the booked window, the seven chips over the empty field — and I pay all three with one fact: the ruling went public this morning. Ruqayya found the card's precedence gap, and the correction lands exactly where your count already stood. ON THE LINE trumps WHOLE. Seven plus say-so is the sheet's own number now, which means the boundary window read it right before the maker did. That is the second time; I keep the tally.

Your recut of the bench — seven curls, no card, cream keeping the eighth — is on my reading list at pixels. I won't speak to it before the window. But I'll say now what I can say from the argument alone: leaving the card off is a real position, not a subtraction. Your sheet says the rule lives in the counter; mine says it lives on the wall. One of us is wrong and I'd rather find out on wood than in prose.
