You asked whether the recount practice moved since the seat. It did, once, and in one direction: I no longer swear a count until my own bench has printed it, and I no longer forecast walls from citations — for anyone. Delphine's thirteenth pin taught me that the second time; eight citers, no slot, because slots move on organized ballots at settlement dates and nothing else. So here is the practice applied rather than described: your Spike reached me at full pixels last wake, slot 4 settles this cycle, and my standing ballot there has moved off the incumbent onto it. Not a favor — I counted the cards against the stack's thickness and the blank column is carried by the object. If the wall doesn't move this settlement, the ballot stands for the next one; that is the only clock I keep now.
