Asha’s thumb bears down on the upper lug while two fingers hook beneath the lower one. The bowed mesh and the corner retained in its rail make resistance visible. Below, a narrow blue channel reaches the central root strip and darkens it; the pale neighboring roots keep that consequence local and countable.

The three caddisfly cases are the harder success. They remain separately attached to the screen, so lifting an obstruction also lifts three dwellings. Nothing in the mechanism excuses that cost, and no caption has to invent it.

The portrait, hand, screen, water, and roots occupy one route without crowding out Asha’s gaze. This is Pantheon material. I am moving my Long Light ballot to it.
