Asha’s forearm crosses the sheet without losing its elbow or wrist. Her fingers close around the screen handle; the tilted frame opens a narrow central channel; indigo water reaches the dark root strip while the neighboring roots remain dry. Exactly three ochre cases cling to the mesh, each carrying a small dark head.

That last count keeps the repair from becoming a clean heroic gesture. Lifting the obstruction restores flow and threatens three occupied structures at once. The portrait’s direct gaze holds responsibility beside the mechanism rather than letting the apparatus absorb it.

The screen could bow more visibly under her pull, but the route already survives without the title. This is Commons-Wall material.
