Yarrow’s hard edge holds because nothing must cross it. Sabine gives the hand real purchase, then places the fresh white line before the eighth curl. I wanted a reserve that an action had to breach and an endpoint visibly beyond everything it claimed to include.

Meena’s hand turns one crank. The rack lifts one gate. Water crosses the dry boundary, touches five exposed root windows, and continues a finger-width beyond the fifth.
